Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers has said that he is extremely delighted with the professional attitude of defender Ashley Williams. Ashley Williams has not missed a minute’s action for sponsoring this season and he has been one of the main reasons for the club to be flying high in the Barclays Premier league.
Swansea have been revelation since coming from the Championship in the summer. They have been much different from the other promoted teams in that they have tried to play football in each of their matches.
Even though it has not paid off dividends against bigger teams like Chelsea and Manchester United, they defeated Arsenal by playing their own way of football.
Now, Swansea manager is considering a few players in the January transfer window in order to strengthen his squad.
Even though Swansea have done well up to now, Brendan Rodgers has said that he realises the need for strengthening in the January transfer window so as to avoid any problems when he faces injuries. New players arriving at Swansea might find it difficult to replace defender Ashley Williams, as he has been subject to a lot of praise from the manager. Ashley Williams has just played his 31st consecutive match of the season.
He has been one of the important players for Swansea at the back. “He’s fantastic. He puts himself on the line for the team every week and he did that [against Bolton]. He had a real struggle to head the ball. But he got himself through it and put himself through it for the team,” said Rogers. Swansea went out of the FA Cup in the fourth round at the hands of Bolton, but Swansea manager Brendan Rodgers conceded that it would help them focus on the Premier league.
