Speculation continues to build up concerning the new manager of Swansea City

Even though Francesco Guidolin has only been in charge of Swansea City for around 4 months, the Italian manager is not expected to stick in the managerial position of the Premier League club for another season and rumors as well as speculation are surrounding the question as to who is going to be selected to replace Guidolin when the current season reaches its end.

One of the managers who has been linked most with the managerial role at the Liberty Stadium is Brendan Rodgers. After being sacked from coaching Liverpool back on October of 2015, Rodgers has not taken up another job and he is available.

Besides Brendan Rodgers, a few of the other managers that are contenders of replacing Francesco Guidolin at the end of the season are: Unai Emery and Roberto Di Matteo.

Francesco Guidolin hinted out the possibility of him joining Watford as the 60 year old manager said: “I have very good memories of working with the Pozzo family. We had a young team but in that time we qualified four times for Europe and also reached the semi-finals of the Italian Cup. But I don’t know if Watford is a possibility for me.”

“I’m happy if you speak about other managers because this is a new situation. Three months ago I heard only talk of the relegation zone. Now I’m happy because there are other situations to talk about. For me, nothing has changed and I’m focused on my job. Football is my job and if you speak about other managers that means I’ve done a good job because you don’t talk about relegation but next season.”

The main reason of why Francesco Guidolin was selected as the coach of Swansea City back in January of 2016 was to help rescue the club and avoid being drowned in the bottom spots of the Premier League and so far Guidolin has done it as Swansea City is 9 points above the relegation zone.
